Omaha World-Herald professionals talk interviewing strategies with public affairs students

Omaha World-Herald reporter Todd Cooper talked about important interviewing strategies with public affairs reporting students at a Gateway symposium on Oct. 1.

World-Herald reporters Christopher Burbach and Cindy Gonzalez also attended the symposium.

Cooper, a state courts reporter, gave a presentation on 12 interviewing tips that will get a reporter to the truth. A question-and-answer session followed the presentation.

"Interviews are a three-act play," Cooper said. "Our goal is to get as close to the truth as possible."
